Title
Final Exit April 2011 IHOP-KC News

Description

Over several weekends in March and April, IHOP–KC took part in a presentation of Final Exit, an extreme reality drama, to preach the gospel in our local community, where 257 people gave their lives to the Lord. In this video, Jono Hall reports on the event, showing short clips from the drama and interviewing Hal Linhardt of IHOP–KC’s evangelism department, and John Neel, executive producer of Final Exit.

onething 2010 Highlights

Every December, thousands of young adults gather at Kansas City Convention Center for our annual onething conference to exalt Jesus. This year, 30,000 registered for onething 2010, though the east coast storm prevented some people from coming.

Our cry is for an entire generation to be gripped with a spirit of prayer and a longing for Jesus, the man from Nazareth with burning eyes of fire, our Bridegroom, King, and Judge.

Worship Highlights

Worship is always a highlight at onething, and this, our tenth annual conference, was no exception. Misty Edwards, Cory Asbury, Matt Gilman, and host of others led us into the presence of the Lord daily, and Justin Rizzo’s worship team included a choir from our IHOPU Forerunner Music Academy. Ardent love songs ascended to the throne of the Lamb.

Thousands responded to the call of God on their lives, as prophetic preaching was interwoven with practical teaching.

Teaching Highlights

Mike Bickle expounded on the seven commitments of a forerunner—pray daily, fast weekly, do justly, give extravagantly, live holy, lead diligently, and speak boldly—charging us to live out New Testament Christianity with allegiance to God’s Word, to resist the fear of man, and to live before God’s eyes alone.

David Sliker challenged many to pray daily for an entire year for the destiny of their parents. Corey Russell’s exhortation to reorder our lives to receive the fullness of God’s grace stirred many to commit to living wholeheartedly for the kingdom of God.

On the final night of the conference, Mike Bickle highlighted what he considered to be the two most important messages: Allen Hood’s teaching on God’s view of our physical bodies, and Shelley Hundley’s sharing on how she processed the pain of her childhood and found her identity and emotional wholeness in God.

Our evangelism team reports that 400 people came to the Lord and that 500 people were filled with the Spirit.

Free Conference Archives

We invite you to view the free video archives of each session and to download teaching notes from the conference, both for your personal Bible study and to use for teaching others.

If you were unable to be with us for onething 2010, we invite you to join us for our “Passion for Jesus” conference, April 7–9, 2011.

Highlights from IHOP–KC’s annual Prayer and Prophetic Conference

Around 1,500 people attended IHOP–KC’s annual Prayer and Prophetic Conference during the weekend of October 14–16. Mike Bickle, Allen Hood, Lou Engle, and others from the IHOP–KC leadership team spoke about the biblical principles of prophecy and gave practical tips for hearing and communicating prophetic words of exhortation, encouragement, and edification from the Lord to those who encounter in daily life.

Mike Bickle exhorted us to walk in the values, doctrine, power, purity, unity, and maturity modeled by the New Testament church. We stand at a critical juncture in our nation’s history. We must respond to God with zeal for righteousness and justice and earnestly desire spiritual gifts. Mike provided long-term vision and practical tips for developing a prophetic spirit and walking faithfully in the prophetic ministry. God is establishing His Church in supernatural boldness in prophecy, as He raises up the greatest prayer and worship movement in history.

Speaking about prayer, Mike encouraged us to see that it is at the same time a great privilege and a fierce struggle, a place of abiding in Christ and of connecting with the Spirit who energizes us to love God, causing us to overflow in love for others.

Lou Engle reminded us that prophecy is not only a gift to the Church given for courage and edification, but it is the very testimony of Jesus and the counsel of God’s heart. Prophecy is a tool given for the full maturation of the Body of Christ, and brings us into agreement with the heart of God. We should seek to communicate God’s heart, desires, and plans by prophesying in accordance with what He has already said in His written Word.

God desires a people who are set apart for His glory, a prophetic Church commissioned as His witnesses. In his message, Allen Hood called for an entire generation to be endued with power from on high. We can only be sustained by encounter with the Holy One. Now is the time to consecrate ourselves to His service.

Free conference video archives of worship and teaching are available at IHOP.org.

Highlights from onething Houston

Over 1,000 hungry believers gathered for onething Houston at the University of Houston during the first weekend of October. Jesus healed, delivered, and strengthened many who attended. The conference was held in a central location on the university campus, in an auditorium just above the university food court. Thousands of students were made aware of the extravagant worship and bold proclamation of Jesus by the sounds emanating from the auditorium.

The campus church, Mission24, along with several houses of prayer in the Houston area, such as the University of Houston Campus House of Prayer, provided the onething team and all who attended the conference with a wonderful experience.

Cory Asbury and team led worship, and Jaye Thomas, a worship leader at IHOP–KC and part of the onething regionals worship team, led a breakout session for musicians, singers, and worship leaders.

Wes Martin and Corey Russell preached timely messages to call forth forerunner messengers like John the Baptist, Daniel, and Isaiah. Saturday, October 2, the conference attendees were presented with the Sacred Charge, a call to seven lifestyle commitments that will prepare a generation for the things of God (You can learn more about this in 7 Commitments of a Forerunner, a book by Mike Bickle.)

Houston’s Youth With A Mission (YWAM) team joined us for the event, and led an evangelistic outreach with Mission24 immediately following the conference.

Let’s ask God to continue doing a great work in Houston. There is hunger and a spirit of prayer in the church of Houston, and many stand in allegiance to Jesus.

Highlights from Fascinate I, a Conference for High School Students

Each summer we host Fascinate conferences for high school students, to encourage them in the love of God and call them to be transformed by God’s grace, that they might walk in His truth and power. Fascinate I began on Thursday, June 24, with over 1,300 attendees. Misty Edwards and Luke Wood led us into the presence of the Lord during worship, and Corey Russell spoke about turning our eyes away from worthless things to behold the beauty of the Lord (Ps. 119:18, 37). Mike Bickle taught about becoming a person after God’s heart, encouraging us that the Lord is preparing an entire generation to walk in an anointing and calling like David’s.

On the second day and into the weekend, we heard from David Sliker about Jesus the Servant, and from Zack Hensley about God’s affections being our motivation for faithfulness. We can miss out on the joy of the glad-hearted God if we don’t understand that He loves to serve us, even in the midst of our immaturity. Laura Hackett, Cory Asbury, Tim Reimherr, and Marcus Meier led worship. Many people received physical healing during our awakening services each evening, as the Holy Spirit touched lives and bodies.

onething Dallas/Fort Worth – Recap

This past weekend, June 4–5, there were over twenty-five prayer ministries in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area that came together in a collaborative effort to host an IHOP–KC onething regional. Two thousand hungry believers gathered to worship and cry out for revival in DFW, and to receive teaching and prophetic and healing ministry.

After speaking about Mary of Bethany in the opening session, Brian Kim gave an exhortation to live with wholehearted abandonment, spending our lives at the feet of Jesus. Hundreds responded to the message with tears, and with a fresh commitment to love God with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Matt Gilman and Justin Rizzo pressed in for the presence of God as we exalted Jesus in powerful times of worship, dance, and adoration. Matt and Justin, along with their worship teams, also led a breakout session, to teach musicians, singers, and worship leaders about the honor and importance of building the house of prayer in this generation.

Wes Martin ended the weekend with a message to summon forth forerunner messengers like John the Baptist and with an invitation to commit to the Sacred Charge. He spoke from Mike Bickle’s recently released book, 7 Commitments of a Forerunner: A Sacred Charge to Press into God. Nearly 400 people responded as we bowed before the Lord to ask for grace to stay the course.

Let’s continue to pray for God to increase the hunger in us all, as we stand in allegiance to Jesus, that we would be those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

onething Queens, New York – Recap

Many different ethnic groups and congregations gathered with anticipation to encounter the Holy Spirit and cry out for revival at onething NYC. During the very first session, the Holy Spirit met us with His tangible presence and with grace to enter into prayer and worship. We spent most of the first night in intercession for college campuses, for high schools, and for various leaders within the city.

We held the conference at Promise Ministries, a Korean church in Queens. They hold daily prayer meetings at 5:00am, which prepared the way for us to enter into prayer. A foundation for corporate prayer has been established in this congregation, and we sensed that the Lord was calling the Church of New York City to pray and fast.

We witnessed the ministry of the Holy Spirit in physical healings, first-time salvations, and on Saturday night the Holy Spirit imparted zeal for the sacred charge commitment. A young lady suffering from spiritual oppression was delivered and filled with holy joy as the Lord’s presence rested on her. As they committed to the sacred charge, about eight people fell to the ground under the power of the Spirit, shaking and crying. They later testified that they experienced the fire of God.

The onething team from the International House of Prayer preached about intimacy with God, the end-time worship movement, and the forerunner calling. The worship team held a time of Q&A for several hundred worship leaders, musicians, and singers. The Lord stirred many anew to the place of prayer and to deeper allegiance to Jesus. May God receive the reward of His suffering in New York City!

onething Tacoma Recap

1,500 gathered for the onething young adult conference in Tacoma, Washington, just outside Seattle. The Lord moved mightily as we witnessed hundreds experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit. Many were filled with joy, laughter, fire, and zeal to see the name of Jesus exalted in the Northwest. This weekend was particularly marked with unity in prayer, healing, and deliverance.

One of the purposes of the onething conferences is to ignite prayer and fasting in the region where the event is held. In this hour of human history, the Lord is raising up a prayer and worship movement in the Church all across the earth.

In Tacoma, we witnessed many congregations and denominations joining together in worship and intercession for revival in Tacoma and the surrounding area. God met us, and I believe many were stirred to continue to pray and cry out as they meet in the place of corporate prayer. The Luke18 Project was there as well, doing follow-up ministry to spark and fuel prayer furnaces in the area.  God, build Your house of prayer in the Northwest!

This morning, I read roughly fifty testimonies that we were able to record from the events of the weekend. One man, who had been in pain for over twenty years from a motorcycle accident, was instantly healed on Saturday night. He had pain in his left leg that extended from his ankle to his hip. He said that he could feel the fire of the Spirit on his leg so strongly that his leg was hot, almost too hot. Then suddenly, all pain in his leg and ankle was gone!

Many were delivered from sexual addictions, a spirit of religion, self-hatred, and the performance mentality of trying to earn the love of God. People were touched by the palpable presence of God, and some were filled with the joy of God.

On Sunday morning, I met a woman who was excited about her impending visit to the doctor to confirm the healing her damaged kidneys and liver. She had been in pain and was taking a great deal of medication. The Lord touched her body on the first night of the conference with His powerful healing presence. Two days later, she was still pain-free and convinced that the Lord had healed her body. She was filled with joy and testified that the night after the Lord touched her, she woke up laughing and joyful, still feeling the presence of God.

Pray for the churches in the Tacoma/Seattle area to be strengthened, and for the house of prayer to touch the Body of Christ.

onething Nashville – Recap

Our first onething regional of the year started off with a powerful move of God’s Spirit. A crowd of 1,400 gathered at Belmont Church in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, and we waited for the Holy Spirit to move among them like He has been ministering to our student body at IHOP–KC since November 11.

As we waited on the Lord before our first session on Friday night, the Lord filled us anew with His Holy Spirit and boldness. Our hearts were expectant, as we called upon the Lord to bless those who had gathered for the conference, and within the first worship song, the presence of the Lord filled the sanctuary and the overflow room. We gave a history of the student awakening at IHOP–KC, set in the context of the ten years we had previously spent crying out for God to send us His Spirit in a greater measure. Our faith was stirred, and we began asking God to visit Nashville in power and to raise up His house of prayer.

That night we witnessed many being touched by the power and fire of God’s Spirit, and many experienced the love of God in a new way. The next day, a young lady testified that she had experienced the love of God so strongly, and  that she had been set free of suicidal thoughts and immoral desires. In their place, love for God was burning in her heart. Another young man came under the power of God and testified that he had been delivered from homosexual tendencies. Many were healed of physical pain, and one man was instantly healed of a shoulder injury; he removed his arm sling and left the conference carrying the sling in his hand.

On Saturday we taught about intimacy with God from the life of Mary of Bethany, about the knowledge of God in the person of Jesus, and about fasting and prayer. Our worship team led a Q&A session with hundreds of singers, musicians, and worship leaders. We also gathered around eighty student leaders and college campus ministry leaders to strategize and pray for revival on college campuses.

The Lord met us powerfully again that night. The joy of the Lord came, and many were set free to enter into authentic worship. Sixty students attending from Lee University experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit resting on them for over two hours. Many of them experienced the fire of God’s presence and the joy of the Lord. They left filled with boldness to see God’s glory come on their campus.

Please continue to pray for our onething regional conferences. We’re asking God to pour out His power, and presence, and to strengthen the believers who gather for these conferences.
